A follow-up question asked the participants whether they understood the NorthKorean people who returned to the DPRK after defecting. 64.8% of the North Korean defectors stated that they did not understand the motivations ofdefectors who returned to the North Korean regime.  

76%of the surveyed North Korean defectors answered that they had never thoughtabout immigrating to another country such as the USA or the UK, while about aquarter replied that they had fantasized about it.
